Troubleshooting a control system with an Open CNC Shield 2 Mini, Klemmenadapter XL and CL57T drivers.
The DIR signal can go to high and low states as expected (0 or 5 volts) when prompted to in EastlCAM control software.
The motors only move in the positive direction.
I haven’t connected or programmed any limit switches, yet.
What other information can I provide in order to get some help figuring this out?
Images included for reference.
no limitswitch is probably the reason. connect the switches and check again
Can do.
Curious though, if they’re not connected or programmed, what causes the error in operation?
As long as they are not triggered or configured Estlcam doesn’t care about the switches.
The cables look okay from what I can see. Why did you wire three strands to the endstops though?
Not sure what you mean.
Are you asking why three conducters? Signal, common and ground.
The “normal” endstops we use have two cables.
Got it.
I’m planning to use inductive proximity sensors.
okay, then three is fine.
I really don’t have an idea about the drivers, I use the same board and the cables look okay to me.
Can you share with me any images of how your set up is wired and your control configuration file?
Looking to compare setups to see if there is some jumper or something else I’m missing.
What drivers are you using on your setup?
Can do tomorrow, too late now. Shoot me a reminder, that would be great. ![]()
I am using another CNC now with CL57T stepper drivers. On my LR4 I used a closed loop on X and TB6600 drivers on the rest, though I would not get those again, the DM542T are muuuch more quiet, got those later as a replacement for the TB6600:
