Another in the ‘art you need to appreciate’ bucket.
The plywood is total trash so it needed a lot of fixup work. Luckily these are very very forgiving

I really love those. I think you posted a tutorial somewhere last time, did you? Those look like a good start to 3D carving.
I can post a mini tutorial. It’s possible to do with all free tools and not that hard at all. Cleanup is by far the most difficult part. Will link in here later.
Here you go: Mini-HOWTO - Making cool 3d surfaces for carving
That finish looks super clean! I’ve had good luck with multiple light coats of spray poly to build up a smooth surface without over-saturating. Do you sand between coats?
my go to is this stuff - https://www.bunnings.com.au/feast-watson-250ml-fine-buffing-oil_p1564809?srsltid=AfmBOoqLZC5N-ZaB6yKJmqr9Km-nRstc9aLIh2Gh_1BCFQpqF9EYmTjI
For these it’s just a case of putting it on, letting it get tacky then rubbing with a cloth. If you want more shine then just add more.
I tend to skip varnish/poly unless it’s something living outside, all my stuff for inside usage is just a combination of stain and the buffing oil.
