MKS GEN_L V1.0 with TFT32_L V4.0 no manual control

Hi,

I’ve been working on a FLSUN 3d Printer with a Makerbase MKS GEN_L V1.0 motherboard, with a TFT32_L V4.0 display/controller attached.

Using the Repetier software I can control the 3D printer, while I see the temperature on my TFT screen, seeming that the serial communication is working well.

I uploaded the latest firmware in the TFT from github (v3.0.6)
The motherboard is running on Marlin 1.8.13.
I setted up the comport in configuration.h.
Both motherboard and tft are running on 250000 bd.

My question is: why can’t I use the TFT to control the motors?

Thanks in advance!

I believe you have to setup two serial ports on the MKS, one to talk to the computer through the USB and another to talk to the TFT. Have you tried asking on the FLSUN Facebook group? You will likely find more people knowledgeable in that setup there.

Thanks Bill for the time you took to write me a respond.
I’ve checked that FB group out.
I also played with the defining of the comports. I do understand that every comport needs to be setup.

I ordered a LCD display for this printer and it worked just perfect.

I blew up my mobo a week ago and ordered a new one.
I guess the connected tft is blown up as well. For now I let it go.

About the new MKS GEN board, when powering it up, it starts moving the 3 steppermotors at the same time, moving clockwise, moving counter clockwise, moving clockwise etc.

Is this a default routine for this boards? Didn’t get it actually.

I don’t know, the only one I have up is the one o the FLSUN Cube. I’m thinking really seriously of swapping that out for the SKR Pro, since I’m switching to that for my MP3DP and MPCNC. I’d guess you’ll want to burn the FLSUN firmware to the board and then decide if the movements are normal.
