Looks like I’m going to need to get a download done this evening.

I’ve been waiting for this as well.

I’ll use it more often when vcarve and trochoidal are integrated.

it doesn’t have a marlin option, but the Duet/RR option works for it in the machine profile. That also works for klipper.

I talked to them at RMRRF and they were working on fluidnc. The export to gcode should work fine, but they didn’t have a reliable connection to the active boards.

Yes. The klipper is gcode export, no control. I don’t know about marlin. It would be cool if they could do just an upload like orca does. Bonus would be a captive web page in there to show the klipper controls, but switching windows isnt a big deal.

Not sure who said that but fluidNC works fine with the GRBL G-code flavor and communication. We have a couple people running Lowriders in house with it. if it doesn’t ping me and we will get it sorted!

Had a quick play and couldn’t see a way to do pocketing or get the inlay M/F to make tool paths that looked like they matched.

Did you pick the “Pocket” operation? :grimacing:

Inlay is a little interesting but does work quite well. Female pocket will make the shape with corner radii that match the tool radius and gives the option for some shape allowance.

Male is just a profile operation that does the same thing, matching corners to tool radius and doing some slop allowance. I’ve only played with it a little but my first try worked really well with a simple shape.

Sorry, I meant pocket with islands. Inlay is the same - a single solid shape looks okay but ‘nested’ shapes seem a bit odd.

My bad. I was being overly conservative based on what you and I talked about. That’s awesome to hear!

Also Awesome!

If they are using rhe same for connecting as lightburn does you can get wifi working reliably (i have a jackpot dedicated to lb in my diode laser) i use an app to make the virtual com port available on the network and never had a disconnection

Will test this software later but i have already a Vectric license and wont stop using it😂

Ah interesting. I’ll take a look at the nested shape inlay. The star I showed is the closest I’ve looked at those tools honestly.

With pocketing with islands the sorting is similar to LightBurn, so make sure all the shapes are selected and it should work well.

Thanks for the feedback! Since this is RC I expect there to be lots of situations I simply didn’t think of when testing and some pretty rapid iteration on the versions. We are excited to see what people come up with.

I wondered if it was me and I was wrong lol. Right before we talked I ran into an issue jogging an OLD fluidNC machine. What it came down to was a couple bugs that actually got fixed right before RMRRF and I hadn’t gotten to test.

Hook it up and have a play. If it’s weird let me know so we can get it right

It’s what I’ve been using since October. I really like that I can design and create gcode with one program on my Mac.
If you haven’t used Lightburn, I think you will really enjoy MillMage once you get used to it.
I did these using MillMage.
