M4 Screw Hole Diameter

Hello!

I have problems getting the M4 screws through the holes in the parts. Right now I want to assemble the base (feet), but there is just no way I can get the screw tightened up through both parts (Bottom_Corner and Lock_Corner) with some glue in between in a timely manner. The screws are basically acting as thread cutters with a lot of resistance. I tried measuring the hole diameter in Meshmixer and I get exactly 4mm. I don’t think this is possible with M4 screws. So do I have to order different screws? It seems that getting the imperial sizes is quite complicated in Europe.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Kind regards from Germany,
Jonas

Thread them through a few times, drill them out a bit, skip the glue, all options that will work.

Thank you for your quick response! I was hesitant about drilling because I thought I would lack the needed precision. I used a 4mm wood drill and now everything fits and is glued and screwed together. Nice!

Thank you!

It’s not too unusual to see that if the printer is oozing a bit, it’ll print the holes just a smidgen too small.
