LR4 Zero Build

OH, and while you’re here, what’s your thoughts on whether I should attempt super-gluing the pieces back together, vs reprinting?

The V1 “team” is one man. @vicious1 does it all. The kits now are packaged by a third party and I believe the cable shields were a mistake that has since been corrected but I am not 100% sure on that.

I would strip that shield off and see how the cables lay in there without that piece there. I cant see it holding well with superglue on just the thin edge. As long as they aren’t sticking out of the bottom I think you will be fine without that piece.

Yeah, good advice. If I can’t get it to adhere securely, I’ll get the wires tucked in and see what I can do with some good, tactical & discrete use of duct tape.

I’m coming to understand this. Ryan is.. quite an asset for this (wider) community as a whole. Hopefully I’ll find the opportunity to give back as much as I’m getting from what he’s built.

He is very much so! None of us would be here in this great community if it weren’t for him. And personally I wouldn’t have my great side business if it weren’t for him. So I agree with you 100%

I wouldn‘t even be near a CNC…

With some (somewhat) careful use of tape and super glue, I think I may have saved it..

I don’t have the patience for even attempting that. NIce!

I do have a note about this exact step here, sorry it was not more clear.

This batch of wires got the covers to speed up production time, they will not be on there from here on out.

Agreed, they should stay just fine when you secure them out of the back, but a piece of tape a little glue would be fine if you think they might actually move.

With a little “planning” it is amazing what these cars can haul. I can fit 10’ 2x4’s in my civic. Passenger footwell, reclined passenger seat, opened trunk access to back seat and the trunk still closes. Not very many, but it can be done worked for lr4 conduit also.

Nice fix of the broken wire holder on the bottom of the yz plate. I probably would have just left the tape cover. It is likely only a problem if it drags the wires and really only if they snag or wear through.

It may not seem like it, but I have read through the docs in their entirety before starting… and following along as I go. I’m just prone to overlooking some things apparently. At least now I know in case anyone else has similar struggles.

Yeah, I can be a bit of a perfectionist at times… it was either figure if I can get things close to before breaking, or reprint. I did not wish to reprint. I may still need to sand down some of the residue on the surface, but I figure it should be fully functional.

Ryan, I want to take a second to thank you for everything you’ve done for this community; what you’ve built here is impressive. However, I especially want to thank you for bringing to my attention that the site has dark mode.

As a fellow dark mode enthusiast, you may want to know that I created dark themes for the WebUI.

Dark mode is the way.

You mean the LR4/CNC WebUI? I see it’s a Node app.. ever you need help with dev stuff, feel free to HMU.

Might be fun to go through some of the themes for other apps and port color schemes over..
