I should’ve went with a tighter layer height, but otherwise I’m happy with them (this was 0.4 layer height with 0.6 nozzle). The T-Rex and the plate are one piece with a pause to change filament.
Hi @orob, I always use ‘ABS juice’ when I print something to get good bed adhesion, but depending on what color ABS filament you use to make the ‘juice’ it can leave discoloration on the part touching the bed. In this case, I was using dark blue PETG-CF for the LR4 and my ‘ABS juice’ was pale gray so it left a washed out look on the one end of the core. First, I decided to paint it silver, which didn’t knock my socks off. So I just made a simple grill type thingy out of the other color I’m using, which is a gold. The gold is what I used for the Peter Plate bases and control board box. It was strictly for aesthetics. I didn’t even use any kind of fastening system. It’s just affixed with CA glue.
I’ll take a few more pictures of it when I get home from work. If you want .stl you’re welcome to it.
I detail it here. Some limited vcarve on plywood, some laminate flooring (not recommended), and some foam.
The peter plates are offset because i printed them part way and cancelled for a reason I dont recall and they wont clear the belt if not offset. Plus they are for the release yz plate version and this machine is a beta version and they don’t quite fit.
That core side piece looks awesome! As does your strut plate. I made an LR4. You made one with STYLE! Very nice!
