Awesome! noticed the hinges on your table setup there… does that fold away? I have such limited space, I’m trying to find a similar solution

Yes they are hinges that allow me fold the table away. The table is quite heavy so I have a block & tackle system to lift it up. There are more pictures at the beginning of the build diary. Can share the cut files if this style of table is of interest.

Time to share some photos of my LR3 upgrades. I guess this is now a LR3.5 as I kept my mdf YZ plates from the LR3 but I now have the same geometry and 32mm tubing as the LR4 in my X beam.

Now that I have done this I wouldn’t recommend it. Much better to stick with the LR4 design formula as I needed to remix several printed parts to get this to work. I expect it would have been quicker to build a completely new LR4. The main advantage I have ended up with is my X beam is now enclosed with cables hidden and protected from dust.

What I am really stoked about is the dust extraction I now have. Works much better than it did before. If anyone wants a copy of the magnetic hose connector then I happy to share the 3D model. My overhead hose is 4" dia. but a similar fitting could also be used for a 2.5" dia. hose.

And the dust system:

The exceptions prove the rule.
Awesome that you’ve updated your machine, and…

Exactly my thoughts.
Do you have more details on the dust collections setup you’re using?

The dust setup is a 2HP HVLP extractor with a cheap Vevor brand cyclone separator. The dust trolley is 12mm MDF cut on my old LR3 (RIP… :slightly_frowning_face: ). Hose is dia. 4" flexible or hard plastic conduit against the wall.

Perhaps overkill but it works well and with the trolley I can move it and use on another machine.

What about that cool arm?

The arm is made from parts cut from 6mm & 12mm MDF. They were cut on the LR3 and each one bolts together like an oversized cable chain. I then painted them with some left over paint to make them look a bit fancy.

That is one of the biggest drag chains I’ve seen, really cool!
