LR3 in Southwest VA

Well… resurrection time!

Thanks to @Jonathjon i have some renewed vigor on my LR3 project. What was supposed to be just plates turned into quite the early birthday present (monday)!

Now on to swapping parts! And seeing if i have any of that pink left to print the stubs! I might have used some for some other things…

Glad to see the parts will live on! Cant wait to see it up and running!

I see a hoffman!

One side reassembled!

Wow, that’s impressive.

Nice!

Side 2 done!

Next up is fixing the broken wires that the vendor snapped with too tight wire ties.

Looking good!!!

That sucks!

Clarification. NOT RYAN!

Okay. These might be the coolest and most useful things i have ever used.

First off. I CAN solder. But why?

I love them!!! I even bought some from the neighbors. I am pretty happy to use them, even with the soldering iron 5 feet away.

@probrwr
Way to go!

Really interesting, I need it too. Can you share the seller’s link? Thanks

These are the one I got. They show as unavailable but there are lots of alternatives.

As long as you just need the smaller ones, Ryan sells those.

Thank you very much, I live in Italy and on Amazon I didn’t find the same article as yours, but a very similar one. They will be delivered to me tomorrow.
Your instructions were helpful to me.
Have a good day

I had a revelation the other day and have failed to post about it.

I have struggled with getting the belts through the holes on all of my V1E projects. As you all know, JJ sent me a bunch of parts and included the full lengths of GT2 belt from his old machine. No shit… it is thinner than the belting I have. Slides right in all the slots and mine doesn’t.

This is what I have been using
Amazon.com: SeekLiny 3D Print GT2 Open Timing Belt 10 Meters (32.8 Ft) Length 2mm Pitch 10mm Width Rubber Drive Belt for Creality Anycubic Anet Series 3D Printer : Industrial & Scientific
I have not measured the thickness of it compared to the belt JJ sent me, but I would be interested to see if anyone else has noticed a difference in the thickness of belts they have procured.

All of my belts came from V1 so it’s the same stuff Ryan models the parts with. I’m sure that would be a big hassle trying to model for multiple belt thickness. Make it wide enough for the thicker belt and then the thinner belts slip.

All of that belt I sent you was not too terribly old. Probably 6-8 months ago when I messed up and broke one so I replaced both sides to keep them the same.

That was the revalation! I would have thought that the GT2 specification covered all the dimensions.

Trust me! I will be sourcing any remaining belts from @vicious1
