LR2-LR3 The Longest Conversion (AUS)

I thought @Ryan had them as part of his Printables standard download, but I’ve just checked and they haven’t been updated. Perhaps he’ll pop by here and confirm.

Not sure what front stops we are talking about?

I think these - you did share a slotted version somewhere in the text above, but it doesn’t seem to have made the download page on Printables.

Are they added to the main file or is this some sort of mod?

They just replace the part - they are the same except they have a slotted screw hole to make alignment easier.

“When you are up to your elbows in rubber ducks, it’s hard to remember that your initial objective was to drain the pond” - old V1E expression.

The ducks are getting restless.

I am in the middle of writing out a thousand times, “I must not start another project”.

I might have been a little bit wrong about PLA creep in a hot climate! Or it may be just a cry for help!!

I went to re-commission the LR3 today, or at least check every moving part after seven months of layoff, and I’m thinking it must be time to print some LR4 parts after all!

It’s not delamination, just the 1mm “gasket” I printed to make sure the dovetails were snug, so there was no play initially.

Oops!

READY FOR A NEW HOME?

And there she sits ( a bit dirtier than in the photo, but she’ll clean up ok) …

Having spent fewer than four of the past twelve months actually at home, and with plans for a prolonged absence commencing in a few months’ time, and perhaps a Core One to assemble on my return, before I can even start to think about its successor, let alone do any actual project work, I think I am (reluctantly) going to dispose of my LR3 thoughtfully to a good home!

I am a bit sad about that is this was not the sort of build where corners were cut, until selling time that is , when realistically a bargain awaits - so if you live in SE Qld, and would like everything above the table legs except the Makita, give me a shout and we’ll sort out a surprisingly good deal. If you live further away in Aus and are willing to collect that’s OK too.

If you want the warts and all description, grab a beverage and wade through the above 690 posts!

I’ll get around to advertising it in other places next week, but by my reckoning the hardware replacement costs are around $600.00 AUD , if you make me an offer close to that, you can have the plastic bits, the polished aluminium plates, the table top (but not the legs) and the wiring in it for free!

That is a great deal on a fully assembled LR3.

And an incredible deal for the most beautiful LR3 in existence… Can you put it into your hand luggage and bring it over here? :stuck_out_tongue:
