LR-V4 Washington State

My LR build really started over a year ago with my Voron 1.2, which then sourced parts for the Voron 2.5 350mm

After a couple of months of tweaking, I was able to reliably print larges parts in ABS

I ordered the kit and controller directly from V1E, it arrived within a week. I built a 4x6’ torsion box, giving me a 3x5’ build area. For consistency I purchased 1x4” primed molding, then used a 1/8” dado to glue up

I found that a pair of Harbor Freight stands were perfect as legs.

I was dissatisfied with the suggested wiring solution and ended up using 2 stranded Cat5 cables, soldered to the Y-Max end. At one point I corrupted the configuration and had to remove the controller from it’s housing to reflash. I installed a 90 usb C adapter and a 2” hole in the controller for easy access. I also decided to keep the 24V supply off the gantry as the low voltage lead was plenty long

Finally, some spoil boards attached using painter’s tape and CA glue

I’m waiting on some 1/8” aluminum sheet from a local shop to replace the printed gantry plates.

I like the look of your display…I’m sure we are on there somewhere. Vessel Traffic Services will call if they don’t see our transponder, and even my wife can look and see if we are working a job or at the pier.

Looks good! I keep thinking maybe I need to make the beam a standard material size to make this sort of stuff easier. MDF if perfect for the job but aluminum looks cooler!
