Hi everyone,
I haven’t found much info searching besides the link below but it doesnt seem to be the same issue. I have pressed the connectors in very hard and they still seem loose.
I tried to search out what I could about this, apologies if I missed something…
Where my steppers plug in to the board they seem excessively loose. Just recently I hot glued them in thinking that’d solve it, but just the slightest bit of wiggle/tension makes at least 2 of the steppers (one x, one y) get jumpy. As is, I can’t put the cover on the case because it introduces enough flex/tension/whatever to cause this. This suggests to me that no amount of gluing is really “enough” when such lit…
I took a very shitty video holding my phone with my chin but it does not show much and I am struggling to upload, but if I hold the ribbon cables onto the SKR board the X axis moves great, if I let go of the wires I see arcing and a bunch of noise.
Are there some different connectors that clip in instead of just press on or something?
Thanks for all your help so far!
Matt

As far as I know you are supposed to remove the plastic “sockets” on the board around the pins. Pictures would help though.

Consider sharing pics, in the meantime, like Philipp mentioned, curious if removing plastic shrouds will help?
Docs recommend removing the plastic shrouds, for steppers and endstops. The wiring is so much more secure for it. Here’s how I removed mine… .
Am using couple of 40x20 fans as a belts and braces thing, but am not sure they’re required, my climate isn’t super hot and am not running long jobs, or with high current that risks drivers overheating and shutting down during a job.
Oh shoot I must have missed that in the documentation! I have pulled the plastic shrouds off and the connectors are much tighter now!
Thank you for your help!

You are welcome, I am using a different board so it was a stab in the dark.
