Hello
I was away so I’m back at home and I take the machine back. 1st test a priori it has to work well but I have a doubt I connected the motors in series but when I did the test my Z axis came to a stop and is not stopped ? is this normal? Do you have to install the limit switches? apparently you said no but I have a doubt
thank you
The simple answer is that when a machine is wired in series, you shouldn’t Home X and Y. You can Home Z, but you must have a touch plate wired to the control board. Touch plates are widely available from places like Amazon and eBay. I particularly like this one I purchased from V1 though the more cumbersome one I purchased from eBay worked fine.
The more complex answer is that it is possible to wire up endstops to a series machine, but you won’t have the ability with those endstops to square the machine, so very few people bother.
