Let's try this again!

That looks pretty nice. I worked on my table a little today. What thickness are the studs, and what are you using for the skin? I think I’m going to use 3/16" hardboard from home depot, which is about $15/sheet. I should have enough room for some 3/4 spoil to screw down the workpieces. I don’t know how else I’m going to clamp anything down.

They’re 2 1/2" studs. Going to skin it with 1/4" hardboard from Menards. All the stuff at my local Lowe’s was crap. Cracks, missing corners, huge dents in the sides. Still deciding if I want to glue and screw the hardboard down. Hopefully it will be warmer tomorrow. Woke up to snow on the ground this morning!

Table box is done. Note to self. Don’t ever use steel studs for framing every again! Not sure how well this is going to work.

IT MOVES!!!

YES!! I love it

Still need to get the router and tidy up the wires. If it was cutting, it would be cutting parts for that spherical greenhouse, probably waaay too fast. I think I set estlcam to run at 300 mm/s, but that still looked too slow for a demo, so I had it running at 200%.

Oh yeah!!!

Isn’t it just amazing that Ryan can send you the coordinates of some triangles, and this Beast gets created, created almost exactly the way it was created by Ryan? Reminds me of theovie “Contact”…

That is just freaking sweet. Congrats!

I’m not sure I could ever put into words the feeling I get when I see another one of the machines. So awesome, never ever gets old.

Everytime, I swear, I think “that looks just like my design” for just a split second, and then instantly I look for any mistakes. Every single time I see a build or make or whatever I can’t help but smile. Thanks guys!

Woo!!
Still need a spoil board, and some aluminum channel. Maybe another vac hose so I don’t have to remove the one on my other cnc…

Something is wrong with that vid I can only give it one thumbs up…? Ha so so awesome.

What’s really funny, is what it would be cutting if it had a smaller end mill, and in quarter inch plywood, is the hole for an electrical box cutting template. I cut it at the right height off the bottom of a piece of plywood so that when we’re running network cable somewhere I can use a rotozip to cut the holes for the low voltage boxes and face plates. Problem is I forgot I needed to import it in pixels, not millimeters, so it waaaay too small, but it was just a test anyway, also showed me I had the x backwards so the first time it crashed into the side.

@Barry, you have so much space… Great progress. I am still a weekend away from “finishing” at least.

WOOT!

Then one axis quit for some reason… It’s okay though. It wasn’t cutting all the way through.

Added some T-nuts to the table. Spaced a foot apart except where internal structure is in the way. Posted some photos to the gallery.

Okay, I have a problem. For the 3rd time now I’m getting disconnects. The first two times I was running from the sd card. Thought the first time I lost an axis, so I checked all the wiring and zip tied the connectors together. They were taped before. Second time it did it, still from the sd card, so I redid the gcode. Third time I’m trying from my laptop and it’s done it again. Laptop this time said it disconnected. The first two times it just started cutting random directions, this time it just stopped, still ruined the cut, since it reset my zeros. I have the ramps running off a ups, and the router and shop vac running before the ups, so they shouldn’t be inducing any funkyness to the ramps. I can run the whole code without anything running and it finishes no problem. Any ideas?

I think I need to update to the new bugfix for you. I have it running and a lot of things have been fixed finally.

Cool!

The “set home offsets” works again. That is a big one.
