Let's test out FluidNC 4.1.1

Looks like it might finally be time to start testing the next fluidNC release.

For the adventurous, load it up and let me know if you have any issues in this thread. More importantly, let me know if you run a job with no issues.
I do not currently have a laser set up so if someone can let me know if it works well for you that would be great.

If we all have no issues with CNC or Laser I will update the docs and the recommended.

Well, I am having an issue. I updated the Zenxy and my X endstop does not work, it is always triggered. Swap back to 3.9.9 and all is fine.

Anyone else?

Having issues with the lowrider as well. I think this one is borked.

i honestly am afraid to upgrade. I have that dang tinybee, and Mitch always gives me grief about Tinybee nor me supporting fluidnc. Unless there is a real good reason to upgrade, i am keeping what i have

Agree, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

I’ve been on 4.0.3 for a while now. I was on it when I did all the work for the festival (over 30 v-carved boards and 17 catch all trays). But after having issues with 4.0.4, I am very hesitant to upgrade for a while.

I installed it on my MPCNC laser running a JP3. Lightburn would fire the laser when I pressed the test button. It would not fire the laser when I framed or ran a file.

I downgraded to 4.0.5-Pre4 and framing and running a file fired the laser correctly.

Did your endstops work as expected? Cartesian or coreXY?

Yes, both the X and Y endstops worked. I have the MPCNC config. It doesn’t have Cartesian or coreXY.

Mitch found the error in a PR and fixed it. He compiled the fix for me to try and my laser works now.

Have you posted this on the FluidNC Discord? Mitch is actively working to fix any bugs that come up now.

If you look at the Lightburn/MillMage section you can see he and I working to narrow down the problem.

Ahhh coool I was watching the release section with your first post.

I think I figured out my LR update issue. Almost done bagging these parts and I can test again.

I just tried it on my LR. I haven’t done anything other than jog the machine and home it. It worked fine.

I did notice that the WebUI (v3.0.10) was showing that the endstops stayed triggered, but they weren’t.

So last I checked my indicators only show up after it triggers once, then they show dark when they are actually triggered. Maybe that is what was happening for you?

I just tried homing my MPCNC. I homed it 5 times and display cleared after each try.

It’s fine. I didn’t realize that wasn’t “dark”. So, it was displaying correctly.

It looks like a lot of work is being done to 4.1.0 already.

My LR seems fine, I have not run a full job on it yet.

I tracked the zenxy issue to between 4.0.2 and 4.0.5-pre1, submitted a bug report.

So I guess we are on hold until a Laser and Zen fix is released officially.

Guess we wait until 4.1.1.

Do you want to try the fixed 4.1.0 firmware?

This is the link Mitch gave me:

At the bottom of the page is the wifi firmware.bin download.

So I have been avoiding an issue for a while now. Maybe you guys have some insights.

Everything about the webinstaller works fine for me, except install. No errors in the console it just sits forever. I tried in chrome and edge, same in both so it must be some sort of system issue. Edge is as clean as it gets I only ever use it for testing a page so no sign in’s or plug ins.

To flash boards I use the zip tools directly (a little modified). But this is annoying when I want to do quick testing.

edit -

Of course when I say that it actually worked. It is stuck iin some sort of loop that takes forever,

any idea what that is?

You asked about FigUI in the other thread. It will allow you to upload the firmware.bin file also. You might try it to see if it works better for you.

I have never seen that. I’m using Chrome on a MacBook though.
