I am running a NJE4060 on a Rambo board. I get what I think is full power on the start/stop, of each scan line. This causes burn through. I purchased a Jackpot controller. Before I change out the board. My question is, Will that fix the problem? Or is the a simpler solution. the first photo is fill (top), offset fill (bottom). the second photo is the back side, the fill burns through. The third photo is offset fill. the dark area, I think is the start/stop.
I switched to the jackpot at the same time I added a laser to my Primo. So I don’t have any experience running a laser on anything but the jackpot. With that I can say I don’t get those issues you are seeing. You might want to double check your settings in lightburn (or which ever software you are using) before you make the switch. Since you have the jackpot already, I will say I think you will be very happy with that board. Its done great for me.
Thanks! Would be kind enough to share your settings? Pin 26 or 27 . S value in lightburn ? Any issues updating yaml?
I will try to remember to pull it up and post pics next time I am out there. yaml update is easy but I have done quite a bit with it. If its your first time it can be a little intimidating. Just post it here and we can help you with it.
I finally made the switch Rambo to Jackpot V1.2.1. I highly recommend it. The laser control issues seem to be gone. It took a little time, but well worth it. My hesitation was about work flow. I think I’ll get used to the new flow, and probably even like it better. The real motivation is Lightburns’ MillMage. I like the idea of having a very similar user interface. MillMage does not support Marlin. Stay tuned!
I recently swapped my laser’s controller to a FluidNC based one also. It too was an effort, but probably because I made a lot of other changes at the same time.
Enjoy the new setup. I know I’ve enjoyed the changes I’ve made so far.
