Mitch has put this feature out for testing, and I’m trying to understand how this can help a LowRider.
In practice, jerk limiting reduces the sharpness of motion transitions. That can reduce ringing, frame excitation, gantry snap, and abrupt load changes in belts, screws, and motors.
It seems like it could help, but I’m not sure exactly how or how much.
When we started using this in marlin it did help. It can be a little hard to tune but it allows for faster accelerations, I find it takes the initial snap out of a movement. I suspect we will be able to have faster overall accels and maybe get a little better corners during cutting (slower with still high accel), and faster Z accels and motion.
