I’m also not sure if we know what country you are importing into.
Canada and I can self declearing it from customs because DHL /Fedex or UPS charge a fortune on brokerage fees . But if you include it from your end then it makes sense - Thanks
Whatever the cart shows should be correct.
I tried this. Unfortunately you have to go to the customs office in the city where it is being cleared, and you have to do so after it lands (or so Canada Customs told me on the phone). In my case, I live over 100 km away from the Vancouver office, so it ended up being simpler and cheaper to pay the stupid Fedex fees.
I am 10 Km away from a customs office .
How much roughly was the fees- please and thanks to give me an idea of what I am playing around with ordering straight from the V1 store.

@vicious1 should split this thread off at post 328, as this has nothing to do with the development of the V3 board.
-
Now that we know that you are in Canada, we know that there are no import duties for CUSMA compliant items (and last we heard @vicious1 is labelling things as product of USA; and if he’s now labelling things accoding to the law, Canada does not tarrif such products of China either).

The v1e store checkout calculates 13% tax on a Jackpot v3 board plus shipping (because the shipping includes clearance services provided in Canada, including remitting sales tax) for me, which is correct for me in Ontario.

There’s no point in self clearing. DHL Worldwide Express includes clearance services, and since you’re pre-paying the taxes there is no reason to expect that you would get hit with DHL’s $17.50 minimum disbursement fee. You pay Ryan and the product shows up at your door (or maybe your neighbour’s lawn (drivers vary).

The v1e store could make it a lot clearer that things are now shipped DDP (and write out Delivered Duties Paid). @vicious1 should at least update the shipping info page so that it doesn’t say that everything is shipped USPS and that “International orders are subject to your local import taxes and fees”… at least not in the way they were when that was written.
I don’t think there are possibly anymore assurances to give @spinorose. Ryan told you that the checkout calculates the landed cost. Everything checks out that it does.
Thanks for explaining and sorry for hijacking your thead- I am going to bit the bullet and do it .Thank for all the help and advice .
All good. The North American shit show continues!
My experience with brokerage and disbursement fees was ordering from a vendor that only ships via Fedex, and did not collect Canadian taxes as part of the purchase. Therefore the fees that I paid are not really relevant to your situation. As both @vicious1 and @dos have explained, V1E parts are shipped via DHL, which has a completely separate fee structure than Fedex.
Because theV1E parts are CUSMA (USMCA) compliant, there are no tariffs or duties. Only sales tax, which is paid on purchase, so you shouldn’t need to pay DHL either taxes or disbusement fees. And it sounds like Ryan has negotiated with DHL so that brokerage fees are included in the shipping fee.
So bottom line, trust that what you see on the checkout screen as the cost. Ryan has gone to a lot of trouble to make the international buying experience as hassle free as possible (especially in this time of incredibly volatile tariffs and counter tariffs).
