I am new to the Jackport controller running FluidNC and was wondering if there are any issues using Lightburn 10 over WiFi or USB. I just completed a Laser cutter build based on the PiBot 4.96 Pro board and have connection issues.
With the Jackpot boards it is a defualt AP mode connection meaning your device and the jackpot are directly connected. That should be rock solid. You can also change it to STA mode and connect it to your home wifi if you have a STRONG signal in the shop at the jackpot and connect to it through your router.
One of those two options should be bulletproof. Just follow the connection directions to get a real connection (192.168.0.1) not just the captive portal connection.
Thanks Ryan. I am currently using the PiBot FluidNC board. It handles WiFi the same as the Jackpot. I can connect to the PiBot in either AP or STA mode and communicate with Openbuilds. It also works with Openbuilds over USB. I purchased the Jackpot 3 board because of the troubles Iām having connecting with Lightburn.
Some of the guys here use a light burn direct connection, I just always use a memory card.
I run lightburn on my jackpot over USB. Just make sure you power up the Jackpot before you plug in the USB cable. If you leave the USB plugged in and turn the main power off it wont load the board settings correctly.
I run lb with a jackpot 1 board with a virtual usb and it is also rock solid.
Thanks for all the replies.
