I just got my Jackpot board in my MPCNC. It’s moving X/Y/Z correctly, and amazingly smoothly to boot. The probe is lighting up when triggered, all other endstops are lit up when normal and off when triggered. The Home X and Home Y buttons on the web UI work fine, but Z home just raises the tool infinitely.
Per this thread, that’s just how it behaves, and the correct way to home is by sending a gcode command. Isn’t it possible to change the UI button to to standard Z home or to just start moving Z- until the probe triggers? I’m operating the web UI off a smartphone and it’s a real bear to copy and paste in a gcode command every time I want to Z home. I haven’t even gotten to setting it up for Estlcam just yet, I’m still running it through basic tests.
I don’t have an MPCNC so I’m a bit blurry here on what you’re trying to do.
I don’t think you want to home Z at all. You would certainly probe to set Z to the top of your workpiece. It’s simplest to just have Estlcam do this in the gcode it generates but you can also probe through the WebUI. If you needed to do something custom, you can always create a macro.
I could be mixing up my terminology. It’s probing Z that isn’t working via the button on the UI. When I press the UI button, Z moves up infinitely until I kill the power. It never moves down towards the probe.
Home and probe are two different things. There is no reason to home the Z axis on an MPCNC. If you chose to probe the top of your work surface or table that should always be done in your starting or tool change gcode. There is no reason to manually do that. Milling basics shows it clearly.
