I im trying to connect my steppers motors they are from stepperonline nema 17, but the board doesn’t have marked or any picture in the shoppage/documentation that helps you toconnect the dupont connectors again.
The jackpot is AABB, so just connect any two wires and try to spin the motor, if it gets harder they are a pair, if not try two different ones. A pair would be AA, or BB. SO two wires that make it hard to turn will be a pair.
You can’t harm anything.
You can also do a continuity test on the wires before plugging in. Since two of the wires share a coil, If you get continuity between two different wires then those two get paired together(AA). The remaining 2 wires form the other pair (BB). I believe the AA BB is printed on the bottom of the board itself? But I need to double check that to be sure.
Thanks, i just asked because wanted to be sure, i have seen many boards that use different pinout. Thanks i used the board to connect my diode laser to do some work i needed urgently on another machine. Next week will be assembling the LR3 and starting rhe wiring process. Its an awesome board, and a much much better way to get started without compiling marlin!
-the 5v gpio outs 27-26 both suffer from the initial pulse when piwering on the board if the laser is fully connected without an enable switch.
Mine doesn’t, so it must be the type of laser. You can actually see the LED pulse if you pay close attention, both should not light.
There is a way to bypass that though, I think it just takes a cap or resistor, super easy. Look around for “laser power on pulse” or something like that. It is a common thing.
Yes, I know its a common thing on Barts boards, i solved that by installing an On/off switch to the 12v line for the laser and the reminder to turn it on on LB. Thats a pretty easy fix. (Lol i dont have the skills for soldering the board, i like it so much, cant afford to damage it that soon)
Btw my laser its a neje a40640. -after the repair it cuts 1/8" mdf better than my k40… And its so much easier to do basic engravings, soon will post some pictures of some mdf panels im making with the cnc. (I know different topic but they are pretty neat)
A small peak. (Full 4x8 sheets)
Also, did you know you could use the jackpot (or any board with wifi) wireless with LB? This is god send (but you cant use any other internet connection (at least wireless ) while you are using it.
I am curious about this. My plan for FluidNC given that Ryan is recommending AP mode is to use a second USB Wifi adapter in my machine which I can dedicate to the FluidNC network. Considering that it is a laser that I want to use it for, it would be nice if LB can use it.
If not, I’m fine with generating Gcode and uploading, but it would be nice.
Working on 2 laser chassis builds now. One for a CO2 tube and one for a diode. Why do I need 4 lasers? Dunno. I haven’t actually used the E40 one on the LR since functional testing. I guess I want the CO2 laser for stuff like acrylic and I just can’t leave the A40640 entirely idle.
Cool, there is no such thing like 2many lasers… Xonnecting fluidnc with LB via wireless it’s pretty easy. You just need to download a program to create the virtual usb com port liked to the fluidnc board. . Will post the link to the guide i used. Later.
Here it is
Sorry for the long link the add link function isnt working for me
Edit: this method just works, i use and odd com port # com200 the jackpot has a different name (Fluidnclaswr ) because the sixpack board uses the default name
It is actually quite common on a lot of boards. I learned about the resistor trick on a ramps board forever ago. It is hard to control every pin on boot.
It doesn’t need solder you just add a resistor or cap across the terminals with the wires.
I had not tried that yet. I went straight to wired, turned off the radio, and tried for as fast as possible. Less overhead when raster etching.
I originally ran lightburn over wifi when I first put the jackpot on the primo. But I will say wifi off and usb connection is much much better. Way more stable and no slow downs
