Jackpot 3 No Connection EXTREMELY HOT!

My Jackpot 3 doesn’t not connect to my computer via USB, no wifi or Bluetooth via ‘32 and it get extremely hot around the center of the board only from USB powered. How can I fix this? Is my board damaged? There are no visible issues, even examined with a digital microscope. Please advise.

I purchased it from the V1e. I can provide my order number if needed. I have many pictures of the device, is there a particular location on the board you prefer to see? I

What happens when you power from the power port only?

I have tried to power it both ways and the results are the same. No wifi or Bluetooth avaliable no connection via USB. I dont have it connected now but, I have a standard primo. I just powered it up and the board doesn’t get hot when connected to supply, only USB.

What happened to that power connector? It’s melted. Is it perhaps wired reverse polarity?

It looks like it’s missing the terminal block that plugs in to the connector

Oh, yup the terminal block plug in is missing. The heat sinks are on so the plugs came with it for sure.

I’m not sure what plug you’re referring to that supposedly came with the heatsinks. I only received the board wrapped in thin pink bubble wrap, along with the small bag of heatsinks.

Also, wire colors what? What polarity? Is it plugged in? :smirking_face:

To clarify the actual issue: I can no longer connect to the ESP32 via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It worked perfectly for several days from my Android phone while I was configuring limits, resolutions, etc. There were no power issues.

One thing I did notice: when I power the board through USB, it gets really hot. However, when I power it through the terminal, it doesn’t get hot.

I’m honestly not sure what’s going on. I’m hoping someone here has come across this issue before and can shed some light on what might be happening.

And if the consensus is that it’s simply easier to replace the board rather than chase the problem down… say less. :smirking_face: I just want the board to work.

Hopefully this will help anyone who is absolutely clueless despite reaching out! I got my board to work again and it was really simple. There’s a small modification that should be included on the next version 4 or something I dont know. Im certain im not the only one with this problem. Cheers

So what was the actual issue in the end? The diagram shows all the points to check with a few possible issues but you didn’t say exactly how you solved it?

Also, the two pictures aren‘t identical. The text parts are also labelled differently in the close-up and the „normal“ picture. Please fix it or remove it, because the way it is it adds nothing but confusion.

You also wouldn‘t normally power the board via USB.
