So once again, getting back into using the machine after a hiatus, during which the control board was switched from jackpot 2 to 3 and trying to get back up to speed. My lead screws are not the normals, so I run twice the steps as the designed, but I’ve been using the same screws for years and have it set correctly/unchanged in the config.
Did something change in regard to the post processor needed? I’m using vectric vcarve and have made no adjustments to it since before. My post processor is set to grbl(mm) but I do all of my design using inches. That has been the way since I first started a few years ago, no change at all.
But starting a cut and I’m plunging to about twice the depth it should. So I’m trying to do a .2 inch (5mm) cut and it’s hitting about 10mm so roughly twice the depth and I’ve checked, several times, that .2 is in the design itself.
However, manually if I step it down 1mm at a time, I’m moving 1mm. So the manual control is running the right Z steps, but the gcode to machine is not.
What am I missing here?
