Installing Fluid on genuine ESP32

Hey, when I try to flash the ESP, I get this message:

I have to push the boot button. When do I release it?

Every time I have had to do it I just held it for 15-20 sec and then it works. I’d like to know the correct time too.

Yeah, worked now pressing it a bit longer. Thanks…

Okay, didn’t work it seems:

More later.

looks right, you just need to upload your config.yaml

Okay, now I did find it on the WiFi before I uploaded the Yaml. After uploading it, everything was green except, obviously, the motors. Now it is on the board and I can’t find it via WiFi any more… FluidNC is really not my cup of tea…

192.168.0.1

Does help with what? As soon as I take it out of the board and connect it to USB I can find the WiFi again… Take it off, put it into the Jackpot - no connection. I switched the mode to AP, does not help.

It’s not a 30 pin esp32 is it?

Is it a genuine ESP32 and an early model Jackpot?

Hit the reset button on the ESP32 a few seconds after power-up.

If that works, you need a resistor…

It is a genuine ESP and a not-so early board. I had a working ESP on it that I had to use for the LowRider because I fried the one that was supposed to go onto that one.

is v1.2+?

1.2 is where the included resistor started I think.

V1, 06/23… And pressing reset did the trick…

Why on earth did it work before and why isn’t it working now? What did the other ESP have that the genuine, latest version does not have.

Since I am in the EU, I am not going to solder anything because that voids my warranty for the ESP, so I am stuck at pressing the button on boot… -_-

solder it on the Jackpot… your warranty is already passed

Nope, 2 years.

If you have a problem, unsolder it before you ship it back to Ryan lol

Man I am so shitty at soldering. :frowning:

I’d rather press the button than to solder…

If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been pressing the reset button all year lol…

Just haven’t taken the time to do it.

I’ve spent way more time sitting there waiting for the Access point, wondering what’s taking so long, then remembering that I need to press the button, than it ever would have taken to just fix it…
