Just letting everyone know that EstlCAM 12 works pretty well through Wine 10.0 on an M1 mac - running Sequoia 15.3.2. It does crash if you are loading up a LOT of carves/engravings, but has been pretty good for me for the simple stuff.
I tried Whisky beforehand, and it ran EstlCAM 11, but crashed all the time. I tried EstlCAM 12 crossover as well, which worked about the same as Wine, but it costs $70.
Putting the resources here that I used to install and run EstlCAM (for anyone else that needed handholding like I did) - one big note is that after you install Wine, you can just double click the installer .exe in your downloads to install EstlCAM (I didn’t need to use the terminal), but I during the install made sure it wrote everything to “Program Files” not “Program Files (x86)” so that I could use the terminal to find the .exe to run the program.
The tutorials I followed:
Does not tell you how to start the program after you run the installer
A little out of date, but tells you how to find and run the installed .exe after you have Wine ready
Links to Wine and Homebrew (which you will need to install first)
Hoping this helps someone! I’m not an expert, but may be able to answer some simple questions.
