How’s this for DOC

Helping a good friend of mine build a kitchen island and a work table for his wife. Had to build them narrow enough to fit through his door lol. He is going to pick up a countertop for the island but wr decided to build a countertop for the work table out of pine 2x4s. The glue up didn’t go as well as planned. Too many things going on at once lol. Anyways now we are on to flattening it and man did my surface bit take some deep cuts.

This is on my full sheet LR3 with a 1 1/4” surfacing bit. Set up the surface using Jamie’s website at an original 0 depth starting from a lower corner lol. This was cut at 20 mm/s and a 18mm step over lol. Not one missed step from the LR3. I was extremely impressed to say the least lol. I did end up stalling the spindle so I dropped the stepover down to 10 mm to finish the worst of it.

I think whats truly impressive is how little dust/chips are around with that DOC!

Wow! Nice!

This is the surfacing bit I was using…

And I run a 1.5kw Spindle

@DougJoseph’s floating dust collection does wonders!
