Gsender has a ton of nice features

I’ve been running FluidNC on a tinybee & GSender a few months now. No problems except for the latest update that switched the GSender from GRBL to GRBLhal, which caused halts and unexpected moves.

ohhhhh, poop!

where are they located?

wait, can you order one from the manufacturer to them, and maybe save some money?

The whole motivation for developing grblHAL was to make a many-platform controller. There has been an ESP32 firmware for some time, and I think it was just a matter of getting the pins right to add Jackpot. Terje Io, grblHAL’s mastermind is in Norway. I think all the testing is by others who care the most about their board.

grblHAL now has more sophisticated motion control, including jerk management (smooth acceleration curves). That helps reduce errors and stresses, for example, when going around corners or reversing direction.

It would have to be able to interface with the gpio chip too.

Ok so on another topic i said i was done because i could not find anything on youtube. Well i cannot let this go. I was reading alot!!! So you use the webbuilder, it then sends the fw to the device. So like someone stated above i could not fin the $ configs! But Supposedly the senders do the configuration for you. I am not really sure why, but a) i have never really been happy with fluidnc (well i think mitch causes me that anxiety) b) i was afraid to run the job from a sender, but last night i realized i have been relying on klipper for my printers! Sooooo, i really want to journey down this path! i have wedding gift i HAVE to do. After that i think i will try this. My major malfunction is all the OPTIONS on the web builder! Also gsender does not have a build for v1 so that is kind of a bummer. But, i realllyyyyy want to try this!!!

If we get a few tested and confirmed grblhal boards running, I will see if Chris from Scienci can help us out.

@vicious1 Ryan, where are you with grblhal. I need to trust you and a few here on there opinion here. is Grblhal worth following? Or is Fluidnc the one we should stay with?

I really need to put my feelings away and listen.

I mean, I just set up ugs with Fluidnc (although wireless, not too sure I should run that way) but it looks nice.

P.s. this is NOT for the wedding, this was a past sign I had made!

I have my old skr board flashed with grbl-hal but never used it. Im rebuilding my diode laser. Maybe i can test

gsender does appear to work as well.

it gives an informational error of level 3 stating $ does not work. But we know that.

I wonder what else may not work though, others are using it though, correct?

I 100% want another option, if someone does not beat me to the punch I will be testing it. I also have the J2, pendant, Jackpot instructions. I am finally getting things done, and this is on my list.

Hmm It might take more than I assumed to have all the gsender features to work then.

What particular feature are you most interested in instead of the other senders out there? I have not used any senders other than lightburn for more than a couple minutes. I just don’t do much other than move, start a job and resume from a tool change so I am not very in tune with how most use them.

I’m still puttering along trying to finish modifying my 2nd J2. Maybe I should just YOLO it without a working input section. Quick, someone hold my beverage…

So nothing really. Lets just say “curiosity killed the RILEY”. Bahaha. I really want simple. Right now i am trying to find a good long usb c cable and will be using ugs real soon! I like tge visualizer, etc. I really want simple, that is all. Oh and I will be using a joystick

I’m in the same boat. I like the visualizer and being able to see the code run. Maybe it’s from my time on a HAAS machine. I’m just not a huge fan of the webui I guess. It’s functional and I use it, but would prefer something like gsender or ugs.

Get an Estlcam board. :yum:

But grblhal seems to be great as well.

Big size gcode files wont show on webui gcode visualizer on fluidnc.

Does it still support a mega and ramps?

Estlcam has got its own board now.
