I just got the board and am going to get comfortable with programming. It’s a very well crafted board with amazing options. More to come.
Can’t wait to see what you think of that board!
Pretty serious mishmash of parts in that build, is there any part I designed on that from any version?
Your Z axis T8 Brass nut needs to be on the top of the XYZ part or there is a very good chance your Z axis will fall out at some point.
I know right!?
It started out all pretty and orange and black (the whole Punkin theme). I did use a different set of corners only because I thought the tie rap holding the belts was a little hokey… Then the Bottom mounts cracked so they got reprinted in red. The blue pieces were originally spacers cuz I’m using TMC 2209 drivers with sensorless homing (Which works great BTW) but now they also get used as height gauges (I just leave them on).
It is kinda funny how it all kinda evolves. I keep talking myself out of printing the Primo only because I haven’t really utilized what I have now. I didn’t even realize I put the Z nut in upside down. Maybe now would be a good time to reprint the cracked Z lower and start using up my old Yellow PLA
FWIW, I am completely satisfied with enjoying building a machine and I drop the guilt of it not producing for me. I don’t keep track of the accounting (besides a sort of general cost/month for my hobbies) and I don’t try to beat ikea prices on projects. I just enjoy working on the machines the same way someone might enjoy painting model airplanes or something. The value comes from the building as much as the using.
Just a long way to say, don’t wait to get everything out the machine you have, although there’s no rush. Just be happy with tinkering.
Yeah, I’m the same way. It really is the fun of tinkering that keeps me messing around with things. The idea for me is to build a small mill to be able to machine parts for a bigger mill. The MPCNC is the small mill. I need to get to a point where I’m just adjusting for the materials I want to machine which is essentially aluminum.
