Great!
I created a couple of screen grabs to record my workflow using each of the post processors, hopefully this will help others

Anyone else having trouble with the fusion360 post processor?
Iām using the latest from https://github.com/NtaajVaaj/mpcnc_posts_processor/blob/master/MPCNC_Mill_Laser.cps but after the latest (10/21/2017) fusion360 update, nothing works, I just get a single line in the gcode file:
!Error: Failed to post data. See log for details.
Yet the logs appear to be empty. Happy to debug this myself, not sure where to start though. How do people develop these processor extensions? In Fusion360 or elsewhere? Seems like I canāt even put a local post in ~/Autodesk/Fusion 360 CAM/Posts as suggested in the Autodesk help docs.

never mind, seems like this is a known bug: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-api-and-scripts/cam-postprocessor-not-working/m-p/7474250#M4854
fixed it and put the updated script here: https://gist.github.com/nathantsoi/5ec21bffab10e7c05dfe3f8ee1032e57
hey there.
Im having some post processing problems with Estlcam, I want to use Fusion 360 to generate the toolpaths to work with my CNC machine but having problems with the codes working and running the spindel with speed control.
im currently running Estlcam on my machine with a Arduino mega and it runs great with toolpaths from Estlcam.
After some trying I got fusion toolpaths to move the CNC with the BoXYZ post processor. Unfortunately this one doesnāt support manual tool changes or spindel speeds. So my spindel is not running and when it needs to change tools it just continues without a stop.
Does someone already have this running ? I cant imagine that Im the first one that wants to run fusion 360 toolpaths on a Estlcam driven machine.
see below a picture of my current CNC.
If you are not using EstlCAM gcode it is probably best not to use it as your control software. I am interested to hear what others think though.
Just to let you know he has discontinued support for the mega in estlcam a while ago.
oh okay i thought the mega was the way to go since it supported the most and had the pendant control. So for me looked like the one with the best future. Lets hope it keeps working for some time then
just finishend my machine.
Why not using it as just a control software. In V11 the controller is separated from the program this would be pointless then. Unless people really like to move there machine manual?
Usually. Or with dual endstops a pendant is pointless.
First I wanted to say thank you for making this post processor. Iāve been using it for a month or so and have been very happy with it. Iād like to make one modification though. Does anyone know how to prevent it from adding M84 at the end of the program? I looked through the post processor in Notepad and couldnāt find anything obvious to prevent it from adding M84 at the end.
Iād like it to raise the Z axis when itās done, however Iād also like to keep the motors enabled. Right now I just go in and manually delete the line before my program starts (it works, but not ideal). I have a screen capture attached to show what I mean. Thanks!

Scroll down in the post processor option, there is one that says āturnoffmotorsonfinishā set that to false.
If you are able to edit it and getting it working do you mind posting it?
Do you mean in the post processor itself, or in the Fusion Post Processor options? See attached in red.
I sure will.

That was not an option in the v10 post processor, but I added it to the attached file. Also, for anyone interested Iāve also attached the post processor I normally use that was made by Martin DB.

Natester has a fixed up one as well a few posts upā¦https://www.v1engineering.com/forum/topic/fusion-360/page/8/#post-47420
Looks like I need to spend some time on testing these and try an get one sent in to be added to the list for Marlin based machines so we have a drop down and a standard. There are 4-5 versions now. Sorry for the hassles I donāt use fusion CAM though so I havenāt been paying much attention since it started working. There are some dual endstop features that need to be added as well.
Totally missed that one. I thought it was just a problem with that one Fusion update that broke all the postās that they fixed. Didnāt realize it was a completely different post processor. I will give it a try sometime.
This is exactly what I need! Thanks! I might be sounding picky at this point, but is there any way to set the Units to Millimeters by default? Without changing my Document units?
Also where are you finding a list of these properties? Iād like to maybe add some of my own in the future. Thanks!
No worries Ryan. Iām just glad I didnāt get yelled at for asking a dumb question (maybe it was still dumb though!).
No way, we are all on the bleeding edge of this small CNC thing. Everything updates constantly, firmware, software, hardware, the knowledge base. It is hard for even me to keep up and I do this full time and then some.
There should be something in the fusion properties.
The post processor is a text file you can edit, they have a manual with all sorts of stuff to dig through for making a legit PP.
If I design in inches (Model Tab), I just set up the CAM (CAM Tab) to be in millimeters since I know that is what Marlin wants for output.
There is no set list other than what is in the CPS file. I added that one based on the name Ryan mentioned and just made it an option in the v10 file. You can code in whatever you want to add to an extent.
To view the CPS file, click āOpen configā after you have selected the post processor under āPost Configurationā.
