how sturdy is the osb? is there any flex?
Standing on it, if I put all my weight over a clear span you can tell it flexes a bit, but the the assembly as a whole is super solid. For how it will be used, it’s more than stiff enough.
If you wanted to use the bench as more of a work surface where the top will have heavy use I would consider using the same material as the base (3/4 subfloor in my case) - it’s much stronger but also 3x the price per sheet and heavy as crap.

I agree, any heavier duty use, that might get pounded on or building large furniture I would add more heft for sure. Sliding my little torsion box top on it feels pretty dang good.
