I started using FreeCAD about 5 months ago , watching mango videos helped ,
The BIM and woodworking workbench are great if making cabinetry, ive done full tiny home layouts custom kitchen designs, transfer to tech draw than export as svg to MM and cut 
have also designed a couple more complex parts that needed 3d printed,
can be bit over whelming at 1st learning all the buttons, and each work bench as different buttons
