Hi - So in resolving one issue, I found another. I’m not sure the why, but at some point we pulled the lower router tool mount off.
The carriage is now on the gantry, with the strut plates cut and installed.
Since my son did most of the assembly, I don’t have a good memory of how to back this out and re-install. So I thought I’d ask the crowd.
