It was inspired by some v1 stuff
Iāve been following that but I havenāt thought much about it. That should be able to power FluidTouch, especially since it wouldnāt need to use wifi. That could simplify the connection for other pendants too.
Maybe showing some useful ESP32-S3 features will lead to a Jackpot 4 ![]()
Or Bonanza V1. Jackpot = nearly ideal cost/performance. Bonanza= kick-butt capability.
Iām guessing that is pretty unlikely.
Very interesting. I actually started a project yesterday using an ESP32-S3 to connect to a digital picture frame that doesnāt have wireless. The ESP connects to the USB port on the frame and mounts the internal storage and SD card slot storage as volumes and serves as a WebDAV host to allow updating content on the digital frame remotely using WebDAV.
The other thing is that you can connect to the ESP32 from Home Assistant as a WebDAV client and update the content that way too.
I donāt really need to connect to the frame for any practical purpose, but it seemed like a good side quest to use the S3 for USB stuff.
The main goal really is just to see if I can do it - it looks pretty straight forward, and I already had some ESP32-S3 boards on hand for a different project.
This is next on my list. I think Iām going to add up and down buttons to the left of the Send button. And probably a clear button as well.

Iām not sure Iām going to do it now but I was thinking about adding a button for a FluidNC command ākeyboardā for some popular commands. Although, Iām not sure what commands they would even be.
That would be cool - especially if you did it like you did it kind of like the macros feature you already have.
Come to think of it, commands would pretty much be macros anyways - maybe call them terminal macros or terminal commands but the rest could be the same - just display only the items in the terminal command palette that match a naming convention or somethingā¦.
Thinking out loud ā itās late. ![]()
Iām going to hold off on the keyboard stuff for now. But I did implement the terminal history. It remembers the last 10 commands. It will be in the latest 1.0.5_dev preview build as soon as the build/deployment completes.
I am sorry to inform you, mam, the history is terminal, heās not going to make it! ![]()
Tell me if this display will work, if not, you can find something working on AliExpress.
It will but that is the basic display. I highly recommend the advance display. You just need the display and not any of the additional wireless modules.

Itās crazy that there is even a review with a picture of FluidTouch.
You have made it to the ALL STARS!
