FluidNC Windows? What?

What is Mitch working on? This was not on my bingo card. No details other than this.

Making some room, or a bit of a performance gain? Above my pay grade but it looks like a lot of work, must be a fun reason for all that work.

I wonder if it’s an attempt to abstract away the hardware similar to GrblHAL.

Hmmm. Maybe someone came along and is paying for something interesting.

What does mitch get out of all this? Bart is selljng stuff, but what does mitch get?

I’ve been meaning to get some Somfy controls for my window blinds, but FluidNC controls would be cool, too.

I took a hobby engineering class and they had CNC vertical mills that ran windows 98 so maybe something like that?

Without looking at the code, “Windows native version” sounds more about the tools than the final platform. Like, making a version that can compile in windows for some target architecture. But maybe building it in windows is useful for some machine, or just to have a simpler simulator machine to do development on.
