FluidNC jogging/controller options

Hello everyone. I currently have a LR4 (build here: Alabama LR4 Pt.2 (Laser Potentially?)), that is running klipper firmware via a BTT octopus/raspberry pi.

However, the number 1 issue I have is not being able to jog the machine around easily. In klipper, I can press an arrow key to move directions, but I have to switch between 1,10,50,100 mm at a time. And at times there can be delays or hesitations.

I am considering buying a jackpot 3 and switching over to FluidNC, mainly for this reason. There are a few more quality of life features I think it has over klipper for CNC work, since klipper is not really intended for CNC, but the main one is just general machine control.

I know there are several devices such as the fluid pendant that can wirelessly control the LR4, but I’m not sure I am a big fan of the dial/scroll wheel. Is there something like an Xbox controller/joystick option for easy jogging and general machine control? Or maybe like a macro keypad for setting part origin?

Thanks for all the support and help from the forum.

You can set up keyboard control. You can use a game controller that binds to the keyboard to do that. FluidNC uses a web interface too. You can create macros to easily control the machine. I love using MillMage to control it.
