Was playing with Estlcam and trying to do trochiodial milling with my milling machine (pm-25mv).
It is running on a rpi4 with picam. The file size for the cornertop was 3mb and i cpuld not even get it to load.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced huge file sizes and issues with running them.
Trochoidal does increase the file size quite a bit. Instead of a straight line its a TON of circles that all need new code for every little bit
Yeah, just was suprised that my controller badically said “Nope!”. Considering it runs on jackpots etc… I thought that the Pi4 should be able to handle it.
I would think it would handle it just fine as well. I know some things 3d printed are MUCH larger files and they don’t have any problem.
Yep, Me too. I have a feeling I am going to need to revamp my mill controller soon.
Running a Pi4 with PiCNC and the protoneer cnc hat. Mounted to a 10" touch screen and uising pass through boards to feed the external drivers. BIG 48V power supply for drives and a small power supply for the electronics.
The pendent is running a Arduino Pro Micro to emulate keyboard commands.
Sadly, the bCNC interface is a little busy and the touch screen is not super sensitive, so I have a wireless keyboard for it also.
