Everything moves with LCD, but no movement with Repetier host

I’m running a Rambo v1.4 ordered from V1 and an LCD screen. I am able to move all axis’s with the motion control in the LCD screen, but when trying to use Repetier host nothing moves. I am able to connect to the printer, i’ve deleted repetier-server, running on COM3 and 9600 baud rate. Any ideas on what i’m doing wrong?

9600 baud.

Try 250000

tried 250000, no go.

it shows in the commands info screen that there is a communication timeout - reset send buffer block.

Are you sure that COM3 is the correct port?

Check your device manager under ports to see what it’s connected as. It will usually, but not always connect as the same port.

Use a terminal emulator. I use Putty, but there are many out there that will work. Sending a command that reports back is the best test. M119 is a good one, to return endstop states, even if you aren’t using them, it should still answer something. M115 S5 will report the temperatures every 5 seconds. These are hacked to report an arbitrary number in the V1 firmware.

If you can connect to the firmware with a terminal emulator, that should give you the needed settings for Repetier.

I got it to work by unplugging everything from the board, rebooting laptop and starting fresh.

  1. I connected all the motors and the LCD screen
  2. then plugged in USB to laptop and board
  3. open Repetier Host and hit connect, everything connected
  4. plug in power supply to the board
  5. was finally able to use manual control
