Boy you are jumping straight in the deep end! I like it.

@Tokoloshe is the inlay king!!! I have yet to try one.

He has a video here with some how to. And lots more videos showing them. Hopefully he will come comment as well when he has time.

well, we have another issue we cannot get past and cannot figure out what we have done. It was engraving at speed until last evenin and now no matter what we set the feed rate of the selected bit, it moves at 1-2 mm per sec not the 30-40 that we have set at the bit.

Did you change the general settings in Estlcam from mm/sec to mm/min?

That was it…and Jonathan diagnosed it for us! Huge shoutout guys

Eeeeh?? I don’t see him post anything. If mine was the right solution, please mark it as the solution.

Yes sir, I just marked the solution.

There’s a little checkbox next to the like button.

Something of interest, we did not actually go in and change that setting. It reverted that setting in Estal cam. And that is not the first setting we’ve seen revert. So we saved the full configuration and have reloaded. The saved configuration a couple times because there does not seem to be a pattern to certain configuration files resetting to default.

This is kind of weird. This hasn’t happened to me at all ever.

That is the same thing Johnathan said and wanted us to post it on the forum to see if it happened to anyone else. Hence us calling him when we had the problem and him being able to diagnose, just like you did, that setting was the problem.

Are you using the current version of EstlCAM?

V12.155a

Interesting, that’s the one I’ve been using without problems. Can’t help you with that, maybe @christian-knuell has got an idea.

Hi,

some configuration settings get set to default or matching values if e.g. a cnc controller preset is selected to ensure compatibility and a defined state.

Other than that settings should not change by themselves.

Thank you for responding Christian. We thought we would report it because it should not have changed, but at least we know how to quickly fix it if it happens again. I will let you know. The only thing I can think of was an original default config save did not include that setting as mm per minute vs per second and we reverted to a previous saved config. I have since saved this config and will report back if we have any additional findings. BTW, very nice application. In my day job I own a company that develops software for enterprise cyber compliance and risk management. So, I speak from decades of experience when I say…nicely done.
