Estlcam Help SOS!

I downloaded estlcam yesterday and chose the language, the length to mm, and the rate to mm/sec. I pressed OK and then closed the program and restarted it. The problem is I dont have the access to any of the menus like setup. This is what I get on my screen:

Do I have to pay for the full version to get the menus?

We don’t use the Estlcam Control software. It requires special boards to run. We on;y use the Gcode generating part of the software.

So do I click on the large picture instead or the 32 or 64 download?

So do I click on tis image to get what I need instead of the 32 or 64 dowloads under it?

I don’t remember and I’m not at the computer that ESTLCAm is installed on. If i remember correctly two icons were installed on my desktop for estlcam. One is for control and the other looks like the above photo. did your install provide both?

You don’t need to download anything more, you need to find the two EstlCam icons that were installed on your desktop and click on the one titled EstlCam V11, the other one (titled CNC Controller V11) is just the screen you need if you are going to use EstlCam as the CAM controller, which many on here do not use because they have non conformal controller boards (or prefer different CAM software)

Well… non-conformal to ESTLCams firmware. They are perfectly conformal to Marlin or grbl (or klipper or whatever firmware they use).

The “standard” for V1 machines is to use Marlin firmware with a few configuration changes to align it for CNC use (as opposed to printing use), and to use any of the multitudinous controllers that Marlin will run on. The current favorites being the Rambo, Mini-Rambo, and just now getting into the SKR boards. There is still some lingering support for RAMPs boards, but given the usual quality of the Mega clones that come with those controllers, they are no longer suggested.

That being said, there are V1 machines being controlled by ESP32-GRBL boards, by LinuxCNC/Mach3, by ESTLCam firmware on RAMPs controllers, etc., etc.

And if they are getting the machine to move the way they want it to, then I’d say that their choice of controller (and/or firmware) is “conformal”.

Estlcam installs two shortcuts, one for the main program, one for the controller. Just click the right one.

Thank you all I got it and got my crown completed. I feel like royalty now.

Marie Antoinette or Queen Mum? :fr:/:uk: :guillotine:/:jubilee:

Really need to expand the emojis…

That’s what I said… If I were to be pedantic I would say it isn’t firmware…it is software.

Well, to be pedantic, you just said non-conformal without context. It would be easy to read that as MPCNC users using a bunch of off-brand conglomerations of random electronics.
