Hey I bought this from the V1 store. I’ve tried wiring this every different way I could think of and it’s still not working. The board isn’t getting power. Anyone know the way to get this EPO switch to work?
Sorry if this seems obvious but did you pull the button out?
Mine has 2 switches in it, on Normally Open and another Normally Closed. You only use one. I used the orange one which is on when the button is “up” and off when it is pressed in. I split the “hot” wire and ran just that through the orange switch.
As Tom mentioned, you appear to have that wired wrong. The green side is normally open (closes the circuit when you push in button) the red side is normally closed (disrupts circuit when you push it in) you have them wired so your power goes to itself and your board goes back to itself in a loop for each. You want to have your positive + red wire going through the red side of the estop and the black negative or ground bypassing the estop completely. The circuit will then stay on unless you push in estop and that would break the power circuit. You can use a multimeter and the continuity testing/beep to confirm how to wire it by putting red probe on one side of red/black probe on other side of red. Should be continuity until you push the estop in
In addition to the other advice you received, I just want to make sure that you did not cut the black wire. From the picture, it looks like you might have wired the black wire into the switch as well as the red, but I cannot tell for sure. You don’t wire the black wire into the switch.
That stop switch is actually 2 switches! The orange side is one and the green is another. One is N/O, the other is N/C. In your diagram you would only use one side of the switch. Check with an ohm meter to see witch side is N/C, then confirm that when you push the stop button the switch goes open.
On mine the N/C side is the orange one! You don’t need to connect anything to the green side (assuming it’s the same switch).
The red wire does not go through the switch at all it goes directly to your board, the black wire gets broken and runs through the switch in on one side out on the other.
Thanks everybody. It’s working now
I’m basically an idiot. I was only suppose to put the switch in-between one wire… not both.
