DerpCAM, open source 2.5D CAM

Hey folks

Just wanted to surface an alternative 2.5D CAM program I’ve been really liking lately, DerpCAM: GitHub - kfoltman/DerpCAM: A 2.5D CAM package/toolpath generator for 3-axis CNC routers and mills

The README says it’s been tested on Linux but I’ve had no problems using it on Mac. It’s Python-based so as long as you can get python + qt5 installed you should be able to run it.

Fusion runs really poorly on my 2017 Mac and I didn’t want to spin up a Windows VM just to run Estlcam so for me DerpCAM made a lot of sense.

I’ve found it’s feature set fine for my use cases and it’s been easy to use. And it can spit out LinuxCNC, Grbl, or Marlin gcode so no post-processor needed.

Hopefully someone else finds it useful!
