Couple of questions about the Jackpot vs. Jackpot 3

I’ve been stuck at 95% complete on a LR4 build for about 8 months. Not because of a lack of motivation or desire, but because I promised a small addition on the back of the house and then moved directly into building my new Quonset hut workshop. During this layoff time the Jackpot 3 released. I pulled the trigger today and bought one from V1.com.

My question is, will I have to make a new control board housing? From looking at the pictures, I think I might have to…

Yes.

Thanks Daryl!

I got one on the printer right know.

BTW your profile says ‘thinking about building an LR4’. Have you decided yet?

I probably won’t. If the need materializes it’ll be to devour sheets of 5/8" douglas fir plywood, so will likely build something a little more robust, and a little more costly.

One other question, as the board has an RJ11 port on it, I can use a simple phone cord to connect my newly built pendant, right?

That is correct as long as it is a 6 conductor cord I believe. The pins don’t line up correctly for a 4 conductor cord if I remember right

Yes you can. I have one plugged into mine.

Not really. Depends on your chosen definition of RJ11, RJ12, or RJ14.

You need a 6 conductor (6P6C) cable, rather than a “simple” phone cable that has only 2 or 4 wires (1 or 2 pairs).

This is what I have: Amazon.com: NECABLES 2Pack RJ12 Cable 6ft Phone Cord RJ12 6P6C Male to Male Straight Wired for Both Data and Voice Use Black - 6 Feet : Electronics

Don’t get a RJ12 cord with “flip” wiring.
