Did not know where to share this - it’s a simple overview of two sided CNC - with a couple of bonuses thrown in. Should I sell my lathe?

I don’t know why this wasn’t already on the list

MakerWorld has a “Laser and Cut” section with some pretty cool stuff especially for free: https://makerworld.com/en/laser-and-cut-models

Examples of said cool stuff:

I got a PDF copy of the book these are tied into, it’s an interesting read! Some cool bits about how we’re at the dawn of another Industrial Revolution with locally distributed manufacturing via affordable CNC machines. Lots of theory and good knowledge boosters etc But…

They claim to have invented a new type of dog bone cut that’s got a more efficient cutting path, but they gave it such an unfortunate name that it totally distracts from everything in the book for me lol it’s so bad that I won’t even type it let alone say it out loud, it’s just icky.

But yes their designs and plans are dope, and stupid naming choice aside, it’s totally worth checking out the book!

Stupid naming choices aside, where does on find that book that describes the allegedly more efficient cutting path?

It was encountered by sailing the seven seas as it were :pirate_flag: I was aboard my trusty ship the 1337(dot)to where I was able to search for and receive a copy of the book  word on the street is you can also borrow copies of Aspire from the same salty-aired-library-at-sea, but I wouldn’t know anything about that :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Of course, one should always check their local library first (Libby app), and as always, if you like the work, support the creators

Not a website, just a link to a drawing! I designed these cupboard handles a year (or two) ago, intending them to be one of the first jobs for the LR3 - or perhaps it was the LR2.

I have finally got around to making the handles for my workshop cupboards and they don’t look like this, sadly, but I like the concept.

It’s ply of course - the two circles are dowels, popped in so that the screws have some cross grain to bite into. The holes in the bottom are at 96mm centres to match the existing holes in my cabinets, but the dowels are at 4" centres to give a heap of flexibility.

I’m posting them here, because I like the concept but I can’t imagine when I’ll get on to actually making them and I’d really like to see someone try!

The thickness is arbitrary based on some scrap I had, I think they’ll work nicely anywhere between 12 and 25mm (1/2" and 1") you’ll need an onshape account to copy the drawing, if you are interested and need help give me a shout.

Turns out Instructables has an entire category of projects specifically for CNC!

I just started scrolling and it’s a gold mine of project inspiration, lots of high quality posts since they do the printables/makeworld type categorical contests

It’s been added to the wiki

Edit- this one specifically has many shoutouts to V1 and the MPCNC! making a DIY rotary axis and how to make a model in Blender and use Fusion to make the gcode to carve it: Carve Custom Wooden Game Pieces! ♘♖♕ ($12 CNC Upgrade) : 11 Steps (with Pictures) - Instructables
