Hi Everyone,
Im thinking of swapping out the timing belts for a rack and pinion drive. Why, well I have had so much problems with the belt system jumping and destroying projects. I can buy them very cheap here in Australia, so I thought why not. My problem is that the T-Belt and drive are 16T, but the rack and pinion is 32T. Im assuming this wont work, so what do I have to change in the software to work with the 32T.

Any possibility of 3D printing a pinion and rack in the configuration you need? Maybe in nylon or one of the fiber reinforced filaments?
Are you sure the belt is skipping? That is not a common issue. Motors skipping is more common and sounds like it is skipping teeth. Rack and pinion will not make the motors act differently.
