i must have messed something up i cant connect to jackpot is there a compiled firmware to put on sd card to reflash it
Jackpot doesn’t load firmware over the SD card.
Tell us more about your setup and what exactly is going wrong.
To test thouroughly, Disconnect USB, and hard power off the Jackpot power supply.
Then power on using only the jackpot power supply with USB left disconnected.
Does the Jackpot then show up?
Did you configure the Jackpot for STA mode?
(In which case, you need to go find the jackpot on your local wifi network by IP or if you have SSDP on you can try pointing a web browser at fluidnc.local )
had made changes to x y to swap and usb and wifi quit working cant connect do not see fluidnc sidd to connect to also usb does not do anything cant get back into it
If you edited the config.yaml, those edits could have mis-defined things, and FluidNC may be stopping with a panic on reading the config.
I recommend doing the test as I described above with disconnecting USB, then hard power cycling the jackpot power supply with USB left disconnected. Report what that does.
It’s unlikely that USB “Does not do anything”- but it may be that your sender is not seeing a working FluidNC. In that case (And AFTER you do the power cycle test above), the next step might be trying with FluidTerm connected over USB to see what output from the ESP32 looks like. Again, this would be a troubleshooting step AFTER the power pull.
If the config is completely jacked, you can reload jackpot’s ESP32, preferred method using the FluidNC web installer from the Chrome (ONLY Chrome!) browser.
Edit to add: If you need to resort to the web installer: Disconnect USB. Power off jackpot. Connect USB. Open Chrome, go to
https://installer.fluidnc.com/
Then reload the FluidNC firmware. When done, disconnect USB. Make sure jackpot is off, then power on with USB disconnected.
nothing detected with usb
have the red light and green light but windows does not see it
could board be defective
Anything is possible, but it’s not likely to be blown just by editing your config.yaml.
You aren’t responding to suggested test activities with any clarity, so I’m finding it difficult to try and help you. We’ll keep working on this if you can provide a bit more detail.
You haven’t described your setup or elaborated on any troubleshooting steps you’ve taken.
What type of computer are you using? (Something that runs Windows)
What sender software are you using?
Have you tried connecting with FluidTerm? Show the output from FluidTerm…
Does an AP show up on 2.4Ghz when powered only by the jackpot power supply with USB disconnected?
If you set it up originally to use STA mode does the IP address or SSDP provided fluidterm.local appear on the network when only powered and connected via Jackpot power with USB disconnected?
What happens if you connect the FluidNC web installer from the Chrome browser as described above?
You can also try taking the esp32 off the jackpot.
Chances are very good that the ESP is fine. There is nothing you can do by only changing the yaml file to physically kill the esp.
MakerJim is making very good suggestions, you just need to give them a shot.
says cant find device i just dont understand it was working just like it should the no wireless or usb
tryed different computers same thing
i figured it out wifi is conecting to my network looked in my connected devices in router found it but dont know why the serial usb still not working
can only get to it by putting ip address router gives it how do i get it back to defaults
That’s great, it’s one of the things mentioned above for you to check; this means the ESP32 is alive and healthy, though something is certainly not right with your config.
This means you at some point configured it for STA mode.
(That’s one more of the discussion elements above which is what we needed to know to help you) and it means at this point it will keep connecting in STA mode until we can change the configuration.
To be clear, you can only reach it by IP,?
What happens if you go to your web browser and put in fluidnc.local for the URL?
You do not get the web UI, right ? (Which means you followed the suggestion from the documentation to turn off SSDP)
You still haven’t answered any of the questions above about what gcode sender you are using.
It will likely be necessary for you to answer that to get good assistance.
No one will be able to help you if you can’t tell us the details of what your setup is.
Go to the web UI by it’s IP address, then put known good configuration back into it (Use the V1 engineering default config files)
Here’s where the config and macros are at the V1 github:
If that still doesn’t resurrect it, then you’re going to have to follow instructions to load firmware with either the FluidNC web installer as mentioned above, or using FluidTerm to load firmware from the FluidNC github repository.
The FluidNC documentation for loading a board is here:
so i can connect wireless but no serial and the sd card does not get recognized replaced alll the files no help
i noticed you can up date the firmware from the web interface where to ge a default firmware that is compiled the .bin file
is all firmware stored on the esp32 for the main board if so could i just replace the esp32 from v1 without purchasing the whole kit again
i have already order another kit but would like to get this one working before Christmas if i could if any new ideas to get serial port and sd card working i am stuck
What type of computers are you using? I would guess MAC, did you install the USB drivers for a CP2102?
How did you format your MicroSD card, it needs to be FAT 32?
Please post a picture of you Micro SD card as not all of them work. There are some details about that on the jackpot page.
Yes you can swap the ESP, but currently I am not convinced it is the issue. Wifi but no USB seems to indicate the esp is fine. It is possible it is just bad USB but, at this point, not likely.
Did you try this? USB off the Jackpot while trying to connect over USB. Some have needed to do this and I am not certain why.
Please take your time and answer each of these questions.
yes i did still cant connect usb
yes i did no usb connection
I have no idea what those two responses are in referencing. I understand you can’t connect but there are lots of questions here that need to be answered.
