CAM Software Compatibility with Jackpot (FluidNC)

I understand that Estlcam is often the “yellow brick road” around here. It’s affordable, straightforward, and really well-suited for V1 machines. That said, I’m trying to get a bigger picture of what else people are successfully running with the Jackpot board + FluidNC.

Specifically:

  • Can you generate G-code in other software in particular such as: VCarve, Carbide Create, Fusion 360 and run it on the Jackpot through the FluidNC WebUI without issues?

  • If so, are there any post processors or export settings that need to be implemented

I’m just trying to clarify the boundaries here. Is Estlcam the only practical option, or is it more that it’s the “default” recommendation because it’s simple, easy, and accessible?

Any CAM SOFTWARE will work. Just export the gcode using GRBL postprocesor.

Estlcam its really cheap (license) but you can use it in the free form. I personally use Vectric Aspire (because someone gifted me the license) and i use most of the time its drawing features (with some back and forth with SketchUp)

I use Carveco Maker. It’s very intuitive, and excellent for 3d reliefs. It’s subscription based, but I find it is well worth it.
