And so it begins :)

Thanks, pleased with how it came out, my MPCNC’S farewell project

What kind of Material is that strut plate?? That looks AWESOME!!! (sorry if you mentioned it somewhere else in the thread and I missed it)

Don’t feel bad about mixing up the Z stubs. I have built 7 1/2 LR4s so far and have done that a minimum of 3 times already, and almost did it again today :man_facepalming:

If you scroll back to post 17 you can see what I originally used this for, it’s teak and holly marine ply that I’ve had stashed away for forever.

It’s alive!

Nice little cable chain bracket

Tidy cables

This is sized for 15x30 but I replaced it with 15x15 but didn’t redo the bracket

External drivers and a six pack controller from my MPCNC

Working on the dust collector and spoil board, hose will be on a boom arm, but super happy to have it up and running

The green and the cable chain give off tank vibes… The strut plate is really cool and your build quality is really good. The controller setup is clean. Nicely done!

Dude! Nice! I need the cable chains! I tried a cut tape measure but didnot do it well. Looks clean!

I extended and repurposed my MPCNC table, will redo the base at some point but works for now.

Bit of a re-do, new table, new spindle, new PC/monitor setup and I rebuilt and removed all the twist from gantry.

Gantry twist was mainly due to the conduit, wasn’t true, I managed to rotate it to a spot where everything was fine though.

Table was redone using a Kreg base, still needs the spoil board, and I moved all the electronics to the right hand side so it’s closer to the monitor and mini PC I added. I have a small Thinkcentre Tiny running gSender that’s connected to a 6-pack controller via USB (was going to use bluetooth but it’s not particularly stable)

Much happier with this setup, now I need to stop faffing around building it and get back to using it!

What do you think of Gsender? I talk with Chris fairly often but still have not given it a test run yet. I am not a huge fan of Gcode over USB, I feel safer using the memory card.

gSender is really nice to use from a UI perspective but it’s not a great match for fluidnc as you don’t have access to the configs/sd card etc (at least not through the UI) need to fallback to their WebUI for that.

Regards USB I haven’t had any issues, previous to this i was using UGS from my laptop and it never skipped a beat even when using the laser.

Estlcam doesn’t have problems with USB either is you buy a good cable. A cheap cable will not work well though.

The only worry I have is sleep mode, or low battery.

What do you mean! You don’t sleep, why do you let your computer sleep?
