Hello beautiful people, i wanted my first post to be after i cut a proper table to take some pictures and to say thank you to the team however i completed my cnc build; with strut plate and all when
The other day I was cutting ryan’s table when a sheet of .75 mdf fell on my y max side, completely seperating one of my yz plate from the gantry and tearing out the strut plate screw holes in the process
I ran trough the suggestions from the community for his issue but to no avail
The only thing i realise wrong is that both my z stubs were cracked on the layer lines, im in the process of reprinting them but my question is if that would be enough to throw off y-axis movement
before the accident everything was perfectly normal.
Hey @Tokoloshe that’s what I guessed at first, I remove the belts, put the machine on its back and do a y homing and both motors seems to be working fine, been on this all day
I realized recently that when I push it normally it runs smooth but when I connect the belts with normal tension I feel some hindrance on the min side. My only guess right now is that the min stop is too close so the belt is kinda skewed and touching the machine, I use the belt width method to set end stop. The calculator measurement puts my end stop too far, I also notice the toe of the min side kicks out when moving the z axis, I reattached the yz plates after reprinting the part and made sure they are installed squarely to the gantry but it’s the same
Gonna give it a go tomorrow again tho, wish me luck
I hope newcomers learn from my mistakes, secure your CNC in every way before committing to any full sheet cut
