About the LowRider v4 Hardware Kit (International Version) from shop

I saw the LowRider v4 Hardware Kit (International Edition) with Aluminum XZ Plates for $299.99 USD in the v1e shop a few weeks ago.
When will this be available again?

Was it an event or a limited time sale?
Or, since I only just got here and don’t know anything, is it just that the international version has been discontinued due to tariffs?

Ryan has been working with suppliers to come up with kit options for international (non-US) customers.

He’s found a credible supplier that will assemble and source kits for him, to be drop shipped from supplier warehouse locations.

This is a direct response to the horrible shipping costs and tariffs that is making it very difficult for the commuinty to source parts when they are outside the US.

@vicious1 will have to comment further as I know he’s been working this issue since well before things started changing rapidly in global trade at the start of this year.

Still waiting on the kits to be finished. Most of China was on a holiday all last week. I expect it to be done this week if all goes well.

$299 is NOT the price. That was just a cut-and-paste placeholder to set up the international fulfillment system. The international kits will be coming with the XZ plates so the price is more.

got it.
Is it possible that the price of the international version will be higher than the total price of the hardware kit and aluminum XZ plate set?

299.99 + 27.99 = 327.981 USD

Regarding this, will the supplier be shipping to the buyer from China?
I live in Japan, so I would be happy if it was shipped from China rather than from the US, as the shipping costs would be cheaper.

Still waiting on the XZ plates to be finished. When they are done, I will get to finalize all the details.

Okay so the listing is live, It might be a few hours until you can use it as the wire needs to clear for shipping prepayment.

The shipping prices shown are the actual shipping prices, so I have discounted the kit to account for my usual v1e.com discounted international shipping. $16 dollar difference. (easier for me to update things as we shake this out) When it is proven I will change it.

Most countries are the same exact price to ship from me or direct, some are less, some are significantly less (New Zealand is crazy cheap as it is DDP even!)

I will be keeping an eye on this to make sure the prices are right.

If your country is not active let me know so I can add it. It takes time to add all 130 that we currently ship to.

The added bonus here is no retaliatory US tariffs should happen.

I have not had to add on any EXTRA markups, the cost to make the kits was nearly identical to the old tariffs I paid for the parts. So as this progresses the international kits will stay the same price and the US based kits will be going up following the tariffs.

~$400 vs 500 for the kit to Germany is a huge difference ($85 vs $180(!) shipping). Pretty neat!

Surprising given the difference to the UK is marginal (showing as less than US$10 difference for me) :hushed:

What about the import taxes from US vs China?

My shipping to Germany should not be 180, it should also be about $85

20% VAT to pay on anything imported from anywhere. I don’t think customs duty would be payable from either country depending on how it’s classified - do you know what commodity code the kit would come under?

I don’t get how your repackaging of non-US sourced products are meeting the substantial transformation rule to change the country of origin from China(?) to US.

XZ plates that you make, yeah, US origin.

The stuff you’re importing and reselling mostly unchanged… original origin country should remain the country of origin.

That is, you should be able to buy from China and sell into (say) Canada or other countries with tarrifs-in-kind on US origin goods and not have such tarrifs apply.

There’s a tiny saving for me to buy from US store direct.

The kit delivered to Aus is $373US but no Jackpot board. So if I buy the board from @Ryan it’s another $110US including shipping. Total $483

From the US store as one package it’s $448.20 total including the board - $690 AUD so below the import tax threshold too.

Australia at the moment does not plan to introduce tariffs on US goods as far as I can tell.

Hmm, let me check…

You are right, it’s the same… How did I think 180? Maybe with plastic parts?

jackpot from elecrow, less expensive?

Yes, sorry from Elecrow with the “estimated shipping” $15 - after logging in, economy shipping is 11 business days (2-3weeks) which is OK, the cheapest express shipping adds another $10.00

So that’s $427 total or $437(optionally) $20 (or $10) difference.

This is for your feedback only as I’m not purchasing at the moment, but I would think the 2-5% would be worth having the board pre flashed?

Of course these comments go out the window if tariff increases happen.

But who, other than the US, is tarrifing (or changing their tarrif rates) on products of China origin?

Products @vicious1 sells that originated from China and re-shipped from the US should only have tarrif rates applied, if any, that apply to imports of products of China in your country… so long as @vicious1 is putting CN as the country of origin for the product.

Under the Duty Drawback Program @vicious1 should also be able to recover the US import tarrifs he pays to initially import products from China (or Aluminum from Canada) that he then exports by filing a CBP form 7551. Of course, his volume of products will dictate whether it’d be worth the bother.

I was referring to the potential for reciprocal tariffs on products of US origin - at present it’s line ball. If Tariffs were to be introduced elsewhere that would change and the Chinese origin would be cheaper by the amount of tariff imposed - sorry for the confusion.
