Z offset in Marlin or Post Processor

If my post processor file already has line “G92 z0.5” (my touch plate is 0.5mm thick), do I still need to set z offset in Marlin mode from the TFT to z=-0.5??

Thanks.

anyone? thx

If you are using the Z orobe as the Z end stop for homing, you need to configure the offset, so that when it touches, it knows that it is 0.5mm above Z=0.

The probe script will ignore this, or more accurately, it will overwrite any conclusion that a Z home made with the G92 value.

Both should work.

You can test the behaviour easily enough by homing or probing, then set Z to an arbitrary height, say 10, and jogging downwards slowly until the bit touches or the position reads as Z=0. It should be at the same time, ideally.

Thank you very much
